General Information
The city of Dnipropetrovsk is capital of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. It is situated on the Dnieper River, and has a population of 1.04 million (third city in the country by population).

Large and beautiful, it is the main city of East-Central Ukraine.

DnipropentovskDnipropetrovsk - is a dynamic and lively city. The city is surprising green along the wide and slow-moving Dnieper river and has remarkable embankments, long boulevards and spacious parks.

It is also the major center of high-technology industries, education, machine-building, metallurgy and trade.

The Mayor of Dnipropetrovsk Mr. Ivan Kulichenko is the running President of the Association of Ukrainian Cities.

Economic Overview
City represents 4.5% of industrial output of Ukraine and 7% of Ukraine’s foreign trade turnover. 

Dnipropetrovsk is a major industrial center of Ukraine. The major industries are metallurgy, machine building, and rocket and space technologies.  It has several facilities devoted to heavy industry that produce a wide range of products, including cast-iron, rolled metal, pipes, machinery, different mining combines, agricultural equipment, tractors, trolleybuses, refrigerators, different chemicals and many others.

The most famous and the oldest (founded in the 19th century) is the Metallurgic Plant named after Petrovsky. The city also has big food processing and light industry factories. Many sewing and dress-making factories work for France, Canada, Germany and Great Britain, using the most advanced technologies, materials and design. Dnipropetrovsk has also dominated in the aerospace industry since the 1950s; construction department Yuzhnoye Design Bureau and Yuzhmash are well known to the specialists all over the world. Dniproavia, one of the bigger airlines, has its head office on the grounds of Dnipropetrovsk International Airport.

MLED Progress
The Memorandum on Cooperation signed on November 29, 2010, in Dnipropetrovsk.

The city finished first phase of the Strategic Planning supported by MLED Project and approved (December 28, 2011) Strategic Plans for cities LED till 2020 year.

According to new Strategic Plan mission of Dnipropetrovsk is to become a business center of the country with a well-developed banking, finance and transport, logistic spheres, city that is comfortable for living and doing business. At the same time, the city will continue to develop industry and rocket-space industry. Dnipropetrovsk is defined as the entrepreneurship-friendly area, area of healthy environment and high quality urban infrastructure. The strategy involves the expansion of investment opportunities. The Roadmap for Investors will be developed a document that will help potential investors to start their activities and implement projects.
